Shila and Shaun grew up together at Changi Baptist Church, but they weren’t friends because of the age difference. It was only in 2000, when they were both involved in a mission trip to Chiangmai, that they got to know each other better. In 2001, Shaun asked Shila to be his girlfriend when she was 14 and he was 20. They kept things quiet until Shila was in university, when the age difference wasn’t a barrier any more. It’s been a 14-year journey from the first date to the altar. The wedding was set at Angsana wedding chapel, Phuket. The church was set in a gorgeous location near the water. Its glass walls also gave them an outdoorsy feel without humidity or rain that comes with really being outdoors. The dinner venue was at Khao Rang Breeze, located on the top of the tallest hill in Phuket town so that it looked down on the lit-up area.

We met them a day before to get to know each other and took them to the beach. We prepared the firework and the sparkle for the night shot. It was raining so hard that day but the sun was suddenly shining when Shila walked to the aisle with her dad. It was a miracle. To find true love and to share one dream is a blessing. As we witness two hearts unite as one, we pray your unity will always remain strong by letting the chords of love that bind you strengthen over time.
